What Students, Parents and Others Say About Alliance Tallahassee Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Felipe "Zicro" Neto
...As a law enforcement officer, I've found Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to be one of the most well suited martial arts for that profession. The art concentrates on take downs and grappling techniques that focus on control without causing injury. But you don't have to be a law enforcement officer to benefit from Jiu Jitsu training. Anyone can gain from the confidence and physical conditioning provided at Alliance BJJ.As a black belt in judo, I've seen many different styles of teachers over the years. Felipe Neto is one of the best I've seen. He has the ability to break down even the most complicated techniques, and make them understandable to children and adults alike. His classes are structured and well organized. His passion for the art shows in every lesson. Felipe Neto is committed not only to teaching BJJ moves, but also to teaching every day values. He reinforces the core values of honesty, integrity, and loyalty to one's team and family. In the children's classes, he stresses obedience to one's parents and the importance of doing your best in school. He leads by example in showing he cares not only for the school, but for the community as a whole. He actively participates in community charity events, such as the Toys for Tots campaign, and encourages his students to do so as well. Tallahassee is lucky to have Alliance BJJ and Felipe Neto, and I am proud to call him my friend. ![]() Sgt. Larry Folsom, Leon County Sheriff's OfficeStudent
...I moved to Tallahassee from Palm Beach were I trained BJJ under another great black belt named Mauricio Villardo. Upon my arrival I quickly discoved there was a lack of expertise in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the Tallahassee area. When I expressed my concerns to Mauricio he informed me of a life-long friend of his from Rio De-Janeiro. I began talking with Felipe through e-mail and phone correspondence and got him to come and see what Tallahassee had to offer for him to start his own school. It did not take long for both a business venture and a friendship to form and here we are today. I am very proud to know Felipe as a person and as a professor. Alliance Jiu-Jitsu of Tallahassee offers this art to people of all ages from children to men who compete in the seniors division at tournaments. Felipe knows how to cater to his students and recognizes that while one's dream may be to fight professionally, anothers may be that he or she needs structure and assistance in a lifestyle change. I can not say enough about Felipe's skills on the mat. He has a very precise game that lacks in no area.In closing I would like to add that it is great to see the impact Felipe has on many young lives. In Tallahassee there is an abundance of young men and women who are about to make decisions in their life that are of great importance. As a Police Officer I see the negative impact of these decisions on a daily basis. Felipe is not only a professor to many young adults he is also a mentor. I am proud to call Felipe my friend. ![]() Jeff Cruse, Tallahassee Police Officer ![]() ...My name is David Podgorsk. My son Zeke (4.5 years old) started training at Alliance Tallahassee approximately 5 months ago. He was very apprehensive at first, because it was a new environment with new people. Felipe was such a good teacher and provided such a welcoming environment, that Zeke fell in love with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Now, he can't wait until Tuesday or Thursday comes so he can learn new things from Felipe. He enjoys learning BJJ from Felipe so much, that I decided to join at age 27 without any prior martial arts training. We are very grateful for the skills and environment that Felipe and his wife provide at Allince Tallahassee. ![]() David Podgorsk, Parent and Student ![]() ...For approximately 3 months, I had researched for a martial arts academy that incorporated effective techniques as means of self defense while instilling core values of discipline, humility, hard work, and respect for my eight year old son Derek. I can EASILY say that Alliance BJJ of Tallahassee has surpassed my expectations!!!! Felipe "Zicro" consistently demonstrates superior patience in his instructions as he explains critical fundamental Jiu Jitsu techniques for a child’s understanding. Most importantly, Alliance of Tallahassee has an upmost respect for family values and it obviously shows through the culture of the dojo as well as curriculum. Both my son and I are blessed to be a part of the academy. GREAT JOB FELIPE & STAFF!!!!!! ![]() Derek G. Holloman, Parent ![]() ...My name is Adam Stone and my martial arts
